BioWare today released a new trailer for its first-ever Xbox One and PlayStation 4 game, Dragon Age: Inquisition. The 2-minute trailer highlights some of the locations you'll visit when the game launches this year, as well as the predators, prey, and factions you'll encounter along the way.
Dragon Age: Inquisition is also coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, though it is not clear which version of the game today's trailer most closely resembles. The above screenshot and the video itself is from a pre-alpha version of the game.
"Dragon Age: Inquisition is BioWare's first next-gen game. It's also our most ambitious game to date," BioWare producer Cameron Lee said in a blog post. "Nowhere is this more visible than in the incredible size and diversity of locations, life, and hidden places you’ll discover on your journey."
Lee explained that the people and creatures you'll encounter in Dragon Age: Inquisition are affected by the game's "emergent" system that creates specific scenarios depending on the actions you've taken previously.
"You'll see towns attacked by bandits, deer fleeing from wolves, giants feeding on bears, and countless other scenarios," Lee said.
Dragon Age: Inquisition also features "incredible graphics systems" that can accommodate dynamic weather effects (naturally formed puddles), spider webs that will "blow your mind," and "huge amounts of various materials that look more realistic than anything we've ever created in a BioWare game," Lee said.
Dragon Age: Inquisition launches this fall for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
